I think they might have a problem understanding the games terminology;
Maiden over, Golden duck, Silly point, Hat trick, runs a single, etc.
you guys don't know what you're missing.
now, take the present ashes competition.
england and australia square up to one another with a series of the best of 5 test matches.

i'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but i've recently begun to get the willies when i'm around an active jehovah's witness.
this didn't happen until after i started posting here.. when i stop by my parents' house on a saturday morning and the witnoids show up, i get a sinking feeling in my stomach....a mix between sickness, fear, and anger.
i used to try and put on a happy face and be sociable when they came in, but now i just wave goodbye and as i'm walking out.
I know the feeling sonnyboy. This particularly happens when I see my parents which is very seldom these days. I get that sick feeling in my stomach and sit on the edge for the entire visit. I even have a hard time picking up the phone to say hello because you are always waiting for there sarcastic remarks to be spoken. However, when I occasionally come across old jw friends including family, I will always make the point in a subtle way of how happy we are and let them see that there is life outside the org. Many of them are of the belief that when you leave you become the devil, so by showing them that you are living a normal happy life, you just may get to think about life outside of the org. You just feel pity for most jw's who are trapped in this cult and just hope that one day they will wake up and see it for what it is.
i never could clearly explain the "faithful slave's domestics", as the watchtower tries to.
i would quote the publications but i did not believe that the explanation was at all satisfactory......was there anything you just couldn't "get"?
How almost every story and so called prophecies in the old or new testament had a
fulfillment in the early 1900's (1914 - 1935). The Isaiah and Daniel publications were good for
this. And what about the Revelation book, almost every second verse was related to having been
fulfilled 1914 - 1935 period, I was never able to comprehend there reasoning in those matters.
No never. Not even a little bit.
in a recent post, sir82 wrote that a trainee missionary attending the school of gilead emailed the following..
"it was brought out that christendom and the world smacks of .
baalism today.
The little boy waving in the back ground reminds me of myself when I was a child. Being lead around and
told that this is what god wants from you. I remember being so jealous of other children at school whom
on the weekends enjoyed all the recreational activities. Whilst my recreation was knocking on peoples
doors and having brain washing sessions on Sunday. But my family is sure making up for all that lost
time now.
PS. I reckon the little boy in the picture is saying, TAKE ME, TAKE ME!!!!!
it seems that the watchtower has not learnt any lessons regarding their involvement in the united nations.
perhaps they think the outcry that a few witnesses made a couple of years ago has died down.
they have been silent about the united nations for about 3 years until they published an article in the sep 15th watchtower, "walk by faith, not by sight!
Well I suppose they have to keep the expectation of the old timers going. In reality the majority of religions,
except for the extremist, do more to promote peace & unity throughout the world today. The governments know
that if they took religion away from the people then you would have worldwide kaos. It amazes me how the J dubs
continue to swallow this crap. It reminds me of a C.O. vist we had about 3 years ago (my last), he went on and on about
some "New Light" in that the UN was now the 8th king and that we no longer need to worry about who is the king of the north
as this has now been fulfilled. A few months after this statement I was reading one of Rutherford's old books and guess what,
Rutherford had already stated back in the early 1900's that the League of Nations was the 8th king!!!! So much for new light,
but at the end of the day how many in the org would remember this statement from Rutherfords day?
i would've called myself moderate leaning toward liberal.
Moderate to Liberal.
When I was an elder their were times when I sat on commitee meetings were people should have been disfellowshipped when the JW rules were applied. But being a moderate I would always give the person the benefit of the doubt, therefore, I would do my best to convince the other elders not to disfellowship the person. It did'nt always work but some people whom should of been disfellowshiped got off.
last nite they announced i was an unbaptized publisher.
everyone clapped and there was much congratulations from everyone after it was over.
my girlfriend has never been happier.
If you truly believe the JW teachings and wish to spend the rest of your life being controlled by them,
then by all means go all the way. However, if you do not believe their teachings and if you are only
doing this for a girl, I suggest you think twice before making any further commitment to either your
girlfriend or the org.
It may hurt to make those hard decisions now, but hey you get over it. It's a whole lot better to make
the break now, if thats your decision, then being trapped and feeling miserable for the rest of your life.
i have an appointment on monday with a plastic surgeon, i have had a sunspot on my face for many years i have had it looked at before, no one was really stressed bout it.

Good Luck Es and be Positive.
witnesses believe they have special knowledge of an entire realm of which most humans are utterly ignorant.
angelic battles are being waged all around as universal court cases proceed.
all of this is happening, they believe, totally unnoticed by everyone else, except perhaps apostates and demons, who see it but for some reason remain defiant in the face of their approaching doom.. it can be a giddy feeling to believe you know what no one else knows, especially when they mock your beliefs as nonsense.
I have learnt more in the past 2 years then what I was taught for 40 years by the jw's.
What surprises me is that we were all gullible for a time, some longer then others. We just
swallowed whatever they told us, but then again, if you are told the same old thing over and
over, I guess you don't question it.
In particular I am amazed what little I new about ancient history, religious history and how the
bible was brought to us. Of course, a lot of what they taught us was edited so as not to bring up
any contraditory evidence that would catch there teachings out, and at the same time highlight many
of there erroneous views.
To be able to study and think with an unbiased and open mind has been a major highlight for me
since walking away.
By the way, great post SNG.
